yeah smoking is allowed outdoors .. but not inside malls and stuff

Same here, it is not allowed in Malls, stores, restaurants, work places... just in open air and outside places.

Well if it's fun, then not so bad. The thing is you need to plan much in advance when you want to buy some booze. Not like here, I can drive to the nearest supermarket or liquor store in less than 5 minutes.
