I fought them, so they just got two fingers.Zombies are after your brains!!!!
or am I completely missing a joke here.

one of my main pubs and venues got closed down so I was there 3 nights running last weekend and spent most of this week recovering. That and the amount of stuff happening over the next few weeks are why I'm taking it easy at home on a Saturday night.
Governments really cracking down on pubs and nightclubs and raising licence fees and amount of security required. This place had it's hours cut back too so it lost some very profitable late night hours. They got told their licence fee was going up 500% and couldn't afford it so after 30 years the place had to shut. The local police even said the place wasn't a problem. It's a real shame. Was a local pub for many and had over 1000 bands a year. A lot of bands I know got their start there.
My other main local venue has said they're closing mid next year due to the new licence rules. This is really getting bad. Without those to venues new metal, rock, punk, heavy rock bands are really going to struggle to get gigs around here. It's sad, Melbourne is meant to be the live music capital in Aus.
Good thing that the licenses here are cheap.
A few months ago we had big problems with the GEMA (they claim some percents of the profits of the whole music industry). They planned to raise the charges by 600%, those bastards. -.-
There was a lot of press and talkback radio during the week about it, it got a bit of attention. Think a couple of government people are looking at what they can do.
This all started because of idiots glassing/stabbing each other and punching on at nightclubs and strip bars. Now gig venues have been caught up in it.
Hopefully something works out. Without these 2 places it's going to be really hard to get a decent gig around here for smaller bands.
