Nurses will be coming around to my building tomorrow to give out flu shots. Looks like I'll be missing out on my freebie this year. :( I usually have this bad habit of going "well, I don't feel sick, I'm just snotty, I'll go to work", but I promised my boss if I didn't improve that I would work...
So I'd had a cough (and not really anything else) for a few days and just put it down to the sudden change in weather and/or my butthead neighbours burning off and the smoke was causing irritation. It didn't go away so my work requires that I get a rona test, or a "brain scrape" as some like to...
We are in the upside down afterall. :ugly: The spread of the virus appears to be extremely under control nationwide, which is fantastic. It sucks that most places don't have the facilities to store the Pfizer vaccine and it won't be manufactured here either.
The covid vaccine will be rolled out in my state from tomorrow I think. I thought it would work like the flu shots where the nurses come around to all the wards/offices, we line up for our jab, take a lollipop and go back to work. I was wrong. Looks like I won't be able to get the Pfizer one and...
Unfortunately, yes. I don't know about the rest of the country but in Queensland, state police are being deployed to make sure people a) don't try to escape hotel quarantine and b) behave when the nurses come around to do the plague testing.
Pack a laptop. :D
Sure. :) I've already written this year off so it won't hurt so much when shit goes down and anything good that comes along will be that much sweeter. Did you see how genuinely happy my friends and I were in that photo from that hiking trip on Sunday? We're not even that happy when we hang out...
Yeah, we've got different rules for different states; even different regional council areas, depending on the situation at the time. I'm not sure how much of a difference 2 hours will make for a night time curfew though.
Restrictions have eased here again and as far as I'm aware, all active cases are being contained (either in hotel quarantine or in hospital, I think). It's all baby steps from here. Most local shows are able to go ahead to some capacity, which is super cool, but it's been tricky with interstate...
Sucks. :( We'll have our current restrictions for another six days I think, then we'll learn if the restrictions will change or not. At least I finally have an excuse to wear my WOA mask we got in our goodies bag in 2019. :D
It's way too early to tell. They're not going to cancel or postpone until the government says they have to, and that's the same with all events, everywhere. I'm led to believe there are huge costs involved with cancelling an event like this without strict instruction to do so, i.e. it's not just...

The story I heard was the person was working as a cleaner in one of those quarantine hotels. To a point I get why they have those quarantine hotels, but getting minimum wage workers with (probably) not enough training to clean infected rooms, then letting them go home and live their lives at the...
Woop, a 3 day lockdown in Brisbane and immediately surrounding cities has just started. It was literally announced at about 8am today. Dumbshits have already cleared out the supermarket shelves (even though they'll remain open) and got in their cars for a weekend away. Luckily 1) my only plan...
