Last year was too hot, even for me. :( I remember one day thinking "I've already had 3L of water today and the sun is still up. IT'S NOT GOOD TO DRINK TOO MUCH WATER, BETTER DRINK SOME BEER." I was still parched the next morning. :uff:
Yeah, I am a stupid tourist indeed.
I hear stories about people going on "shopping" holidays. Sometimes I wonder if they're bringing their kids along just so they can take extra stuff home. :ugly:
That's pretty much my limit for my flights within Europe. I did a practice pack yesterday and it came to around 20kg. My bag includes a tent, pillow, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, a chair and a blanket. I may or may not send some stuff home before Wacken though, we'll see. I won't need so many...
All this talk of heatwaves suddenly brings me back to my night in Hamburg last year. I forgot there was no air conditioning in the hotel I booked and I don't think it had a fan. It was hot, so I kept the window open for several hours. It wasn't until I prepared for bed that I saw at least 100...
No, that's the one I bought after I sold the old one to them. Fun fact: I met Phil for the first time when I bought this kit. He was working as a piano teacher at the store.
I had a group chat with them (Lagerstein) so they all know about it, and a few of them have marked themselves as "attending", so fingers crossed they don't have to do any more work after that. They do enjoy their boozing (obviously). :p
I do not; it's Phil I know (tall guy on the tuba). He was actually the original bass player for Lagerstein. He and Nathan actually bought my last drum kit for their first drummer when they just formed :ugly:
It looks like the weather will be rather typical for Wacken (unless this website's prediction is completely wrong :p ). Somewhere between "fake winter" and "spring" weather with a bit of rain. I hope I arrive before this supposed thunderstorm on Tuesday.
Most years we've (un)officially had one and this year will not be an exception. I've made a private event on Facebook for it to gather all of my friends from everywhere, but I'm extending it to everyone here as well, so hopefully now I won't miss anyone.
Wednesday 31st July at 6pm, we'll meet...
