I didn't know about the cock thing either until last year. In Australia, it's not uncommon to refer to/call your friend or close acquaintance "cunt", but that's strictly in a colloquial setting (as many people find it offensive, regardless), and it's not a term to use for anyone with any class If you add other words to it, that changes whether you mean to say it in a good way or a bad way. "Mad cunt" or "sick cunt" is good, "shit cunt" is bad and "dog cunt" is REALLY bad.
