It's probably the only holiday that differs from state to state (the other I think might be Queen's Birthday but I'm not 100% sure). It used to be the first Monday in May, but that meant we had a cluster of public holidays in the beginning of the year, then nothing between the Brisbane exhibition holiday (mid-August) until Christmas.

The Dutch have that every year. After accession to Christmas, there's nothing.
