The worst were the EU, who "threatened" Scotland, it wouldn't be a member automatically. On the other hand, It'd have given Scotland the opportunity to stay in the EU, and the (rest of the) UK to exit it, as they so dearly want.

I just hope Barst de wever will keep his mouth shut.

What exactly is the relationship between UK and the EU? So apparently they're a part of the EU, but use GBP, have different rules about entering without a visa, and I get grilled at immigration whenever I enter UK/re-enter EU, even though I'd already been let into the EU within the last 90 days

The point is, the people in Westminster don't know it themselves, let alone the people on the streets.

they are part of the EU but they have separate agreements that allow them to have their own rules on a number of things.

But it makes them weird. If we use the metric system, they use an imperial system.
If we drive on the right, they drive on the left.

Might be due to the geographical situation. It is an island after all.

AHEM. We use the metric system here for everything except certain cases (just roads and pints, basically).

I have to admit, I only went to the UK once, so I don't know.
And I only saw London and its underground and Wembley.

we use miles for roads and pints for milk and beer. everything else is officially metric, though a lot people use certain imperial stuff casually. (like using pounds (lbs) for weight)
