Do you play competitively at all?

Nopez. I've followed the scene for a while but was playing Super Smash Brothers Melee (gamecube game) back then.

I did it ages ago, but I think I did it by playing Sapphire in one game boy advance and silver/gold in the other, then from Sapphire you can trade any pokemon with the DS very easily, as you can plug Gameboy games straight into it and have a minigame which allows you to transfer.

Odd. I know (thought?) you can't transfer between the 2nd and 3rd gen, at least not directly.

Wow Pokémon platinum is actually as expensive as Black/White here.

Hmm.. don't have the stuff to try it out right now, sorry, I got 2 GBA and a link cable, but one GBA is SP and I need an adapter. I'll be able to check in a day or two though.

That game was fun.

Yeah it's great. The competitive play was different though, only 1 v 1, no items (random elements are bad for competition) and a lot of advanced techniques the casual player doesn't know/can't perform.
