you're never too old for martial arts, though you should be aware your bod does not adept to flexibility and heal injuries as fast as the younger crowd![]()

my new colleague does brasilian jiu jitsu, and some form of kung-fu.
I'm interested in stuff like that, though I'm so out of shape that I probably will never start doing stuff like that![]()

Doesn't matter. I'd just be doing it for fun, not going to try and go pro or anything.![]()

I am just not ready to put the training down that will be necessary.
I like beer and spare time too much
Between 16 and 18 though, I had no problems spending 2 nights a week + half of Saturday going to the dojo

still, if you're in a beginners class with a bunch of 10 yo to young teens, their progress will most likely be a lot faster than yours, you need to be prepared for taht mentally as well.
It's just an age thing, not too much to do about it
Was the best training I've ever done though, both physically and mentally, I cn recommend it if you're willing to put up with the tiem and loss of spare time that's needed.
Maybe they have classes specifically for old farts.

I guess there are more options than that though. Like a class once a week for people with jobs and responsibilities.
Ah well, we'll see. I actually got a card for a free lesson... found it on my car coming out of watching Karate Kid.![]()

cool
yeah, if they have something like open nights for beginners, then perhaps you can maange "only" 1 night per week.
It's good to stay away from drinking and smoking, then learn how to eat healthily, to get the most out of taht sort of training.

I think it'd be more awkward to be in a class of 10yr olds.Maybe they have classes specifically for old farts.
Sounds cool. :]

haha yeah.. I'm not flexible at all
but like tandy couture is 46 and still does MMA profesionally, and quiet good I must at

I was 16 yo and 195 cm, but sometimes got my ass kicked by the 12 yo who was about 160 cm, just since he was a brown belt and I was a yellow belt
Physical strength and reach is just not everything, even though it helps![]()
