That's cool! And yeah I'm glad she's not a rap fan. The other good thing is that she accepts and supports my love of the music. She may not like all of it but she knows it's important to me.

thats very important .. reminds me of a video i saw once .. i think you know it already .. :D

My parents are not into Metal, but they know that I am and accept that part of me. They don't put it down.

yeah same with my parents ... my father only would comment on the clothes i wore ... he wanted a more girly-girl daughter in pink dresses or something like that :D

They're mostly fine with it by now but weren't always. Originally I wasn't even allowed to buy a SOAD CD.

Well they were like most people, they didn't know more than what meets the eye when it comes to the music. They fear that it might corrupt or negatively influence their kid(s). People like us prove otherwise, we educate the nonbelievers. :D

I don't think my parents ever expected me to be a girly-girl, but originally I wasn't even allowed to go into Hot Topic in the mall. :o:D Didn't want me to wear chains either, etc. For awhile they hated me in all black too.

Yeah that video is priceless! i just love it, that old guy is great! And yeah I guess most fathers might hope that for their daughters, but the main thing is that he sees and knows the real you, what's inside, not what you wear.

my poor dad had hopes of me being a normal girl .. but with time he lost all hope :p:D

Poor him. :D

Suddenly I'm reminded of this family I saw at Bloodstock last year. A dad [dunno if there was a mom there] and two young kids, probably aged 7 and 4-5 or something like that. Both with band shirts and denim jackets with patches. So cute. :D
