I guess it depends on you personally... like I never really got annoyed with Dutch being used or German back when I couldn't understand it. A few times when it was nothing but that, but we're obviously also using English here too. Or else I'm not sure what I'm writing.

The circonscription Brussels - Halle - Vilvoorde is the ONLY bilingual circonscription in Belgium. Brussels is its own community (like a state in the US) and is officially bilingual Dutch/French.

Halle and Vilvoorde are unilingual Dutch (Flemish)
But...
as the circonscription has Brussels in it, this circonscription is OVERALL bilingual.

The Flamingants (read: ALL Flemish politicians) want a seperation of Brussels with the rest.
The French speaking don't, as many live just outside the Brussels community (thus Flanders)

Don't ask me more, I don't understand shit out of it.

Note the circonscription Eupen is also bilingual (French/German) but no one's complaining.

i heard about such in the news and didnt really get what hapening .. but sounds like a big mess to me ..
