Second that

Either get Avast [free anti-malware thing that's supposedly very good, I have it for my Windows] or Linux [entirely new operating system very few people use so most virus writers don't bother with it]. Avast would be the easier of the two.

I don't do much on line purchasing so i could probably just do a scan before i do any transactions.

I like my Linux.

Currently on Windows though just because I'm downloading loads of stuff I don't want to bother trying to find for Linux when it's hard enough finding it for Windows.

AVG free anti-virus combined with Malware Bytes' Anti-Malware is my preferred choice. both free.
