In Czech I think we had a server in a restaurant that didn't really speak English, so we had to sort of use charades. Also learned the art of ordering by pointing to something on the menu and saying "THAT".

Yeah, we had a bit of that there. It gets worse when you get out of Prague into the regional areas. We had our hotel guy writing us notes in broken English. It got pretty funny.

most of these places had the pictures of the pizzas on the menu. Think english isn't as widespread there as it is in western Europe.

English is VERY widespread in Finland. More so than in Germany. Though, for some reason I had no problem speaking Finnish in Finland, but when it came to speaking German in Germany it just didn't happen.

I feel like making grilled cheese sandwiches. But I don't feel like getting up. Oh the dilemmas.

Really? I've always found Germans so be some of the best English speakers I've met. Better than a lot of aussies.

I'm fearing this will happen in Croatia. Though, I've been told many times not to even try speaking Croatian. They'll understand me less than they would if I spoke English or German.

Well it was in the village outside Brutal Assault, so pretty far outside Prague.

Yea, I might have to get out a piece of paper and start writing in German for what Holly can't understand spoken.

That happens to me every time I'm on this forum.
