I think it may be even worse here. I hope I get to see/hear some Live Metal when I am on vacation in June. Primal Fear plays in San Francisco the day before we arrive

It really does. It's a bad thing about living in such a remote location, and one where most people have HORRIBLE taste in music.

yeah tell me about it .. ppl here are so much into pop & hiphop .. its so annoying ..
almost 7,000 ppl attended the last rock fest here and half of them where ppl coming from other places
while for the Backstreet Boys there were more than 15,000 ppl

Same here, most metal bands would only draw a club sized audience here, unless they are a huge band like Maiden, Metallica or AC/DC. Hip Hop, Reggae and Hawaiian are what's popular here. All three genres are SHIT IMO!
