the two he made either side of it, Mystic River and Gran Torin, were both cinematic gold though.
The original Dirty Harry is still his best. One of the greatest film s ever. Think I've seen it more than Mad Max (think that might have been called The Road Warrior overseas)
Oops. Just checked. The Road Warrior is Mad Max 2. Both classics. Just avoid the 3rd one Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (even though it stars Rose Tattoo's Angry Anderson as a bad guy.
