so, does anybody have plans for today? (besides sleeping adam)
Yes, I will go swimming and do some laps. Also will go to a funeral for my friend's father.

but I found it anyway, it's the one with the wavy Windows window thingy
That's the one I meant. It is like the most useful key to know

Well from 83-85 they were untouchable, then... Though Slayer were also very much kicking ass back then. And there was no Death or Black Metal yet. Maiden was also kicking ass.

good luck with the tests!
have fun with the first two things.
my condolence for the father
Yeah, he is one of my oldest and best friends. His father was 87. He was really into Metal years ago (not his father) But he did not follow it much into the later 80s and beyond. He mainly likes the old stuff.

if my GPA after this semester is decent, I have a shot at a scholarship via grades, meaning more money for going to Europe

That's great! And a good incentive to do well.

well yeah but there were other bands that I think are better... probably not as big thouhg.. but better...
we really encourage my daughter to do well so she can get a scholarship later. She usually gets VERY good grades.
Well I guess I am kinda biased since Kill EM All is one of my top 10 albums of all time and Master of Puppets really is a masterpiece. But I do agree, there was a lot of other good Metal around that time as well. Like I mentioned, Maiden and Mercyful Fate was great back then.
