We were getting bottles of Jack in the campground for 30euro which isn't bad for a festival. Back then that would be about $50 australian. They're over $40 at the supermarket here anyway so that's pretty good. we went through a full bottle before heading over to the bands each day.
Don't remember how much I spent on Jack in the festival area. I probably don't want to remember.

Here they're about $25 for a bottle. I consider double that to be a lot

What's the rate of the AU$ compared to the US$?

We've been up and down against the US dollar for about a year now. It's been anywhere between high .60s and low .90s. It's normally about 75 cents. It's pretty good now so I've been doing a few mail orders.

When I was in Europe last year we got about 66 euro cents to our dollar. This year it was down to 55 cents.

Right now my goals are save enough money to get overseas again next year and finish the 7 beers and half bottle of Jack I've got in my kitchen. Oh, and reach 500 posts.

The only time I ever bougth US$ it was like €1 = $1. (2002)

It's now more like €1~$1.40
