I think we try and be the type of person our new boyfriend/girlfriend want, but in the end we go back to being ourselves. When I realised what my ex was like I didn't try and change him (it never works) I just 'set him free'.

IMHO there is nothing "perfect"....is all a near to and/or compromise...it also depends what you value about a boy-/girlfriend...accepting the other as they are and supporting them is a good thing..which also means that they tell you when they think you've done something shitty/not acceptable and vice versa and finding a way/solution...Originally posted by monochrom
