Just Australian politics here. If you looked up the news closer to home, I bet it'd be all about the Syrian refugees.

Yep, looking at it right now. On Australian news though.

Pegida are assholes! Nothing more, nothing less.
The borders closed, I've seen/heard about it. But that's also due to some stubbern leaders (Orban e.g.) who refuse to recieve refugees, and are driven by extreme right winged ideas. Someone has to tell them they need to take their share as well, not just Germany.
And I've seen stories that the refugees in Germany are welcomed with open arms! So...

I could not agree more! But if you have nationalists in the government of your country, you cannot expect anything else. I'm not looking at Hungary, but more at Belgium!

I don't really know how these things go but the labor union I'm part of doesn't want us kitchen workes to go on strike I guess. I don't know. But yeah I'm not gonna.

There's a general strike action here on October 7. As an unemployed, I will participate. But of course, it's all depending on the way all unions will react.
