It's more like, if you go to the supermarkets in town (Edeka) for instance. (or any given place in Germany outside of Wacken)
I've seen it happen during RockHard. Someone wanted to buy beer, but didn't have his ID. No beer.

Yeah I imagine they might ask to see id at the market. That's the right thing to do, in my opinion. In Finland they always ask because they have specific spaces for drinking, which sucks... Not looking forward to that when going to Oulu this weekend.

Yeah im not gunna be a dick, its a horrible thing that has no need to be brought up. Was more of the myth of walking across a road not at a stop and getting a fine was true? ...

Sorry, I couldn't think of anything else at the time :ugly:

I just remembered another - if you think you're walking on a red/different coloured footpath, you're wrong (it's more of a city thing if I recall correctly). They're actually designated bicycle tracks so try not to get in anyone's way. Being Australian I always tried doing that by moving to the left while the Germans tried to avoid me by riding on the right...that usually ended with me just running the hell away to avoid a collision :ugly:

I couldn't tell you about the j-walking thing. In my experience, the police working in Wacken are essentially there to make sure everyone is having a good time, and they're the only one's I've ever seen anywhere who actually enjoy their work. Last year on my way to Cologne there was a train on the other track full of football fans...there were about five police to every train door, complete with riot gear and police dogs. When Quark and I got off the train at Itzehoe for Wacken, there were two police in high visibility vests, smiling, saying "viel spaß" (have fun) to everyone :D

How cheap is the crates of beer to buy there compared to a supermarket before?

One year my friends and I were walking through town to get booze and one of them brought a rubber boob. There was a police car with the window open, my friend indicated that he wanted to toss the boob to them. They caught it, giggled and tossed it back.

I spied two police enjoying the bands on one of the smaller stages while pretending to watch the crowd for trouble-makers.

Like I said, the police who work WOA love that shift. I've never read that they've had anything bad to say about it :)

No glass!
Cans: like 20-50cts per can, depending on the brand. (and 25ct deposit)

And the only time I had police outside of Wacken, was in Aachen to read the timetable for me. (those things are too small for my eyes)
