As long as you don't go to West Flanders. Even I can't understand their flemish or Dutch. Even though I am Dutch speaking! (Native language)

Ghent is rather easy to understand, but if you leave Ghent, it's getting a bit more difficult. (Ghent is a city dialect).
Avoid Antwerp as well. There are 2 kinds of people the Antwerps don't like. French speaking people (mostly from Belgium, if you happen to be French, it's ok) and Dutch people. They think the Dutch are too arrogant.
Best places: Leuven/Brabant and Limburg. (Hasselt, Over-/Neerpelt, Lommel, Genk)
