Now that you mention it, I have noticed the comma is used way more often in German than in English. I'm not sure if it really matters that much; English wasn't my best subject in school after all

The comma is used a ton in German and it's considered a mistake if you don't do it...

I know. It's a nuisance to find out if a comma is needed or not. I use the Dutch grammar and hope I'm doing right.

I find it worse in English though. In German the rules are quite clear, in English it's just like, meh, do whatever feels right and then it's wrong after all

But it may be due to the fact that English is not your native language!

But what am I talking about? I try to avoid commas as much as possible.

Rules for comma in english are pretty precise, they're just not explained very well in school and so no native english speaker really knows exactly what they are.

And about the comma thing... I think our English teacher once said that if you're not sure if there should be a comma or not, don't use it. They don't use commas that much I think.
