I think only once when I asked for a particular day off my supervisor wanted me to be at work to help out with an audit, so I compromised and came in at midday (I went to see Finntroll the night before ). Every other day I've asked to have off I've been granted

That's actually not bad. I've only taken one 4-day leave in my 19 months working, so I'm yet to test how flexible my boss is. Although I do come in between 11 and 11:30 every day and leave around 8. He's cool with that part.

It was a shared event with a friend who has the same birthdate as me. She was organising the whole thing and it was going to be at her place, but due to unforseen circumstances she had to cancel I'm still going to visit her on our birthday and bake her a cake cos I'm rad

Our arrangement is that we get one day off every 4 weeks. We work 40 hours a week and get paid 38, then on our days off we get paid as normal. With administration staff, we get to choose which day we want off (doctors for example, are told which days to take) and we can accumulate up to five days worth of hours at a time before they start getting cranky. It's a good opportunity to get stuff done that can only be done during business hours from Monday to Friday, also to do nothing, whatever
