Getting everything lined up before heading over. For now,
on the fence about whether to buy a tent here and bring it
or rent one to use over there. If I can find a tent small and
light enough that I can stuff it into my checked baggage
before climbing onto a plane then I'll do that. I can snag
one for practically $40US here whereas just renting a tent
at Wacken is like over $300US at this point.
I'd rather avoid the "KarTent" if I can help it! lol

Since you're going to amsterdam. You can probably buy a tent at the Decathlon in amsterdam.
It's right next to Amsterdam bijlmer arena station which itself is easy to reach by train and metro.

I can personally recommend this tent for backpacking from Decathlon: https://www.decathlon.de/zelt-quickhiker-ultralight-3-id_8245651.html
It packs up really small, small enough to fit in a backpack and weighs just 3Kg.
We've had the version before the latest one for around 13 years now and it is ace.
Have used it for many, many trips around Europe and it has lasted really well.
Have had to waterproof it over the years and changed some of the poles but as a tent, when our old one does finally need replacing, I'll go for the latest version straight away.
If you can make sense of the OV chip card system in the Netherlands. 'Cause sometimes, even i can't make sense of it.
