They province already forced them to, but than some people living there were like, hey we want to join an other city.
And the province was like, fine have a referendum, and the majority choose Amsterdam, so they will definitely join Amsterdam.
Which means I'll be in amsterdam within 12 minutes by train

I know for instance that Amsterdam Zuid-Oost is part of Amsterdam, though NOT connected with any other part of Amsterdam, due to Overamstel.

Weesp is directly connected to Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, which in turn is separated from the rest of Amsterdam.
I however expect more changes in the coming years which will connect both pieces of Amsterdam to each other.
