Steel Panther? Really? Please, goodness, no! Surely not ever at Wacken. I was expecting someone like KISS. Steel Panther highlight everything that is wrong in the world. "Oh, look we're singing about 'stuff' and it's 'funny' so we must be amazing, yeah?"

Nope! It's sexist boring drivel that I'm already bored of. Surely Wacken is the ONE place in this world that music will stand above such an exploititive band. Shame on you!

I feel quite similarly about Steel Panther playing at Wacken, but I've learnt to not care. Clearly, a ton of people enjoy their shows and no one forces me to watch them. I can just go to another stage and watch another band play, or go rest in my tent for a bit. It's just another band I don't care about watching... nothing to get angry about.

In all honesty, you're totally right. But lots of people seem to like them.
They gave me a laugh or two. But I'll probably skip them this time.

When I saw them in 2004 they couldn't play hammer smashed face.
Corpsegrinder even dedicated this song to everybody that tries to censor death metal

Yeah I found a video of wacken 2007 where they play hammer smashed face.
So they probably aren't on it anymore.

You may have guessed, I may have been a little tippsy when posting above. I still stand by what I said though. Very disappointed that SP have been announced. Guess that will be time to find food, drink or to have a little rest.

The problem I have is that they are clearly talented musicians but choose to take the piss out of a genre of music which I love by taking it all too far. They are loved by the stag and hen do crowd, the people who go to festivals as a tick on a 'bucket' list, not the people who live and breath Metal. Anyway, I've taken a breath and will seek some other form of fun while they are on. Food, drink, another stage or tent rest.
