Yeah, as Quark said, Swedish is unfortunately a national language and we all have to study it... And no, we don't have to learn any other languages beside those but we have a lot of classes for different languages. In elementary school we had German and French. In high school beside all those there was Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Latin and probably something else too.

but are those other languages mandatory? or just options you can pick?

Nope, they're not. In elementary school we have to first pick between english, french and german. If you start french or german then you will start english later. And later in elementary school you can have some language as an optional class. And in high school we still have to study english and swedish, and if you studied french or german in elementary school I guess you'd have to study it in high school, but I'm not sure. But you can also take optional languages then.
