there is. Inside of Altona station (basement) there is a Lidl supermarket.

btw, regarding supermarkets on the route to Wacken:

If you want more - more beer, bigger choice, spend more money - you can also go to toom market which is on Max-Brauer-Allee about 50 metres from Altona station (turn left on Max-Brauer-Alle after you've left the station).
This one is really big (well, for german circumstances), has a great choice of food and drinks but is also a bit more expensive than discounters like Lidl. Plus they do have a seperate drinks shop which sells many kinds of beer.
Anyway its still on the route to Wacken and usually you'll also be able to buy camping chairs, charcoal, barbeque and such stuff there.

Do they sell throw away BBQ's?

not sure, but I think they do.
Otherwise you could also try it at Rossmann drugstore which is at/outside of Altona station too, opposite of the bus station / corner Max Brauer Allee.

Hey guys

I have just about finally decided to come to the festival from here in New Zealand. (Leaving it late I know).

I noted that someone mentioned they had hired a campervan but all I can find on the net are companies that will only hire for 14+ days at that time of year which is kinda over the top for a 3 day festival. Anyone have info or a link to something for a bit shorter term?
