Yeah, thank god. Wouldn't be nice for example go to a vacation in some other country and people didn't speak english at all...

well, I remember going on vacation with my parents when I was young and nobody spoke english.
Like in eastern europe, right after the wall fell.

I was in Tenerife few years back and there most of the people didn't speak english almost at all. Pretty weird, since that place is popular place to travel to.

It is weird! Especially when you can hear it everywhere. And also it's used a lot in working life.

well in some countries there's no english on tv because they use voiceovers.
so for them english isn't everywhere.
For me though, it is pretty much everywhere.
I heard that starting in 2015 about 15% of all lessons on primairy schools will be in English.
So yeah, kids will be really good at English.

Same here. Also I used to speak english with mom just for fun. We're weird.
Oh but that's really good! Hope they will start that in Finland too.
