I'm pleased to report that I had much more fun at Summer Breeze this year than I did in 2012. For those of you who don't know, the day before Summer Breeze 2012 started, I experienced my very first ride in the back of an ambulance, and I remained quite sick for most of the festival.
Although I spent half of my holiday sick this year, I was very well for Summer Breeze. I had a minor heart attack when I was told I couldn't get in without the bottom part of the ticket which had fallen off weeks ago. I searched through my luggage and eventually found it. It went through the washing machine, but the important part was still legible! I did miss a few bands, but I was choosing between bands I may have seen before, or spend quality time with my friends from abroad; beer-pong was the winner!
My only regret was Friday night when I had Jägermeister with the neighbours when everyone else left for Machine Head. I remember taking a sip and passing it on many times, then waking up and not knowing where I was (after a few seconds I realised I was in my own tent). I'd never blacked out before in my life and I was really terrified, but everyone else thought it was hilarious.
The journey home was the worst part. I allowed 4 hours to pack up and get on the shuttle bus to Stuttgart, and spent the next 42 hours getting home.
