I don't know if they even do that outside the US so this might not be relevant for most people

for me anyway... last year this guy [with a bucket of candy sitting beside him] took some change out of his pocket and gave it to me
but otherwise... I didn't like getting loads of Smarties or Jawbreakers or all the little/random candies no one wants

not where I live. And I'm glad about this. Sad enough that they are starting to do this at Helloween. I just dislike greedy little kids who throw eggs and stuff at your house just because you don't want to give them anything...we just try to not open the door for anyone on that day. Nobody's at home...

It's not like that, it's way cuter. The children are singing something or tell a poem and get the candies as a reward for it

Me?I met so many musicians in my life.I would have to say either Henry Rollins(signed my old jean jacket)at one of his spoken words or Natalie Cole(the daughter of the late Nat King Cole) when I was working at a comic book store (she bought Archie comics).I met plenty of hard rock/metal personallities.
