I even don't like "nieuwe haring". (raw haring with onions etc that the Dutch love to eat, especially during "vlaggetjesdag" (= the first day of the new haring catch in Scheveningen, NL))

The problem is that they are raw.

Just fry them for a few minutes and you'll have the most delicious fish ever. At least for the perches...don't know exactly for the herring.
