Guys, another question about footwear.
At first, please share you thoughts about footwear you are going to wear in case of heavy rainy weather.

Speaking about me, I have Gronell Sportsman:

But I afraid, that it extremely not enough for Wacken usual dirt.

I have a chance to buy this ones, but one size bigger that I usually wear.

And I have a chance to buy rubber boots that ends under the knee of my size.

Please give me piece of advice, experienced Wackeners =) Are my Gronell enough usual muddy environment or I have to upgrade my inventory? I usually try to be careful, and not participate in mud dances =)

Was Wacken 16 weather worse than average?
I don't know, but let's put it this way.
Wacken 15 was a catastrophy. I've seen pics where half of the infield was innondated. I reckon, that'd been too much for my shoes.
Wacken 16 was just wet! Some parts were innondated, but there was a possibility to walk along it/avoid it. (Attention! Hear Say!!!)
Hörnerfest 17 was like Wacken in 16. Same area (bit south, though... not much) and some entries were muddy, but my shoes survived it. Dry, and... full of mud. (that I recently removed)
But it all depends on what you want.
And I'd wait what the others have to say.

16 was a bit more than wet... I've been at a wet wacken before, but this wasn't it.

I would say that 16 was a "typical" Wacken.
Dry during the first days, but as soon as it's raining ONCE the ground suffers and gets muddy, espacially at places where a lot of people walk

Hörnerfest 17 was continuous rain! :( No stopping at all! (Except for Saturday evening/Sunday morning)

So what conclusion? Is my Gronell boots enough for 15/16 waken? Do I have to buy additional rubber?
Sure I'm asking for you opinion and experience, you don't have to feel responsibility for decision I will make =).

well out of the 11 times that I've been so far 15 and 16 were the worst when it comes to mud.
Before that I thought 2005 was pretty bad, but that was just a "rainy" one, the mud wasn't that bad.

I would definitely not call it typical, since I've been at super dry super warm editions as well, specially 2004.
