I think back in 2003, a big anem (possibly being iced earth? ) also had to cancel and then they flew in twisted sister for a reunion show (they hadn't been playing for many years I think)

TS did play at Bang Your Head 2003, the day we drove back from that fest TS were announced for WOA as well, made me happy gnoffi

Not sure if any band cancelled before that though

Hey there! going this year to Wacken for 2nd time, I had a question about the charging station ("Electric circus" I think they called it, I'm surprised there was only one).

Last year I pretty much ignored it, but what I saw was quite bizarre: I saw people pedalling some stationary bikes, some others sleeping on the floor waiting for their phones, huge queues, etc...

This year I might need to use it, work reasons. So how does it work? do you leave your phone and come back a few hours later to take it, or do you have to wait there? how about the people with the exercise bikes, what was that about?

Any idea of the price?

Cheers!

I have no idea myself! It's €2, I'm told long time ago, but I have never seen it before.

Try looking at the Wacken website.

though in English, there's no mention of charging your phone, whereas in German, there is.

I didn't know about this, I was talking about the Electric Hotel, which was next to the tent (WET and Headbangers). This is all that it says on the festival ABC (basically nothing):

"At the charging station you may charge all your electrical devices. All different kinds of power supplies are provided. Make use of 100% regeneratively produced electricity and charge your cell phone at the Electric Hotel."

The info office is in Wacken main street right? that is a bit out of the way

In case it is any help for people going next year, most stands and shops also charged phones, including the small breakfast place in camping A next to the bus stop. Prices was 2 or 3 euros, and obviously you could leave your phone there and pick it up later or the next day.

No idea about the Electric Hotel though, it was quite far away for me
