No there is nothing wrong with this years line-up.
You guys are just to blind to see !

Look at the major acts of this year... Saxon, Warlock, Machine Head, In Flames, Running Wild, Heaven & Hell, Motorhead those are all headliners of other Wacken editions !
But we got spoiled way to much, with a KILLER name like Iron Maiden last year.
Afcourse there are SOME crappy bands this year, BFMV and BMTH ... but the rest of this line-up looks a lot like the older Wacken line-up's

I think everyone was just expecting TO much because this was the 20th anyversarry.... and now the line-up is not as KILLLR FUCKING GREAT ROFLIMAO as everyone thought... so the line-up sucks.

people here have explained about a hundred times why they think this line-up sucks...
I'll do my summary :
- no extreme headliners
- 20th jubilee is a joke
- 30 extra euros we don't get any valuable reason for

In flames are awful, even people who enjoy this line-up agree with me ! this dread-locked guy jumping like a nu-metal bitch is just ridiculous. How on earth are they still headlining anything ?

partly true, but just after this, they announce the 20th anniversary jubilee, so I guess it's normal that people have some expectations...

some pieces of answer, a few headliners from the previous editions :
emperor, immortal, carcass, opeth, mayhem, morbid angel, cannibal corpse, obituary, ...
extreme legends that also had a role in the WOA success over the past years.
this is what upsets most people in this thread.

if you're into power metal, and especially german, of course you are crazy about RW and Saxon, but that's not really the case for many foreigners and extreme fans, who also expected something for them.

Does anyone can explain me why d'hell Heaven&Hell is being a source of excitement. Ok, it's guys from Black Sabbath, but did you hear their first and the only album? I did. As I already wrote the only thing that saves it from being total failure is Dio's voice.

they'll play a bunch of old black sabbath tracks (those with Dio, not those with Ozzy)
this is a black sabbath show, that's what makes people happy, only the name changes. (even if there'll be no tunes from the ozzy era)

I personnaly prefer BY FAR to see Heaven & Hell than Saxon, RW, Doro/warlock, RammaGay, eths, bmth, bfmv, epica or the bosshoss

As for heaven&hell i'm not really a fan i'l give them a look maybe catch the end an watch holy diver etc but I'm more of an Ozzy fan or ozzy era sabbath, I was lucky enough to see Sabbath with ozzy once on a reunion tour an it was brilliant but the midget dio for me not really so much music i like, but sill worthy headliners it is technically Black sabbath! an dio's a good singer... personally my fave black sabbath album was TYR with Tony Martin on vocals now that man could sing! Best vocalist they had by far, and by far best album in my opinion.


Also oh dear whats wrong with Boss Hoss? I can't say I "get it" jus like the Hoff, there's that novelty value about them, but I listened to them and they're pretty cool!

Since I've been sold on Volbeat now... dammit i really like them lol

I don't get the point with booking them.
first : they're not metal. Thin Lizzy and H&H are not metal, but they're almost legendary.
second : the BossHoss are not legendary.

they look like the perfect definition of a "filler band".

but still, I'll rather watch them than jump-in-flames.
