Ok, this is officially the worst line-up ever

And almost one week after the "huge" announcement, we still miss the full line-up...

You will have to wait much longer, I'd guess....

Well!!!...the 'major' line-up announcement has left me numb.
They have taken a massive PR fuck up and made it 100 x worse.....Enslaved aside this new list of bands is appalling for the 'best metal fest' 20th anniversary.....absolutely fuckin awful....

How has BMTH got onto this bill....is there a creche with its own stage......

WACKEN 2009 IS A CAR CRASH!!!!

This could seriously damage this festival for years.....the other fests must be laughing all the way to the bank...

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!!!....i've invested a lot of time and money into Wacken 09...right now i feel cheated.

Message to Wacken Orga

Can't begin to describe how disappointed and truly shocked me and my friends from the UK are at the incredibly poor line up for the 'worlds biggest and best' metal event in its 20th anniversary year.

There are many,many bands in your line up that simply are not good enough to grace this event.Some of them are appalling choices...

Their are so few decent bands full stop....the lack of thrash,hard core,black and doom bands of any standing has led our entire party to sell our tickets and we are now going to Hellfest instead....

I like a mixed line up but what is this obsession with old school and cheesey metal you have...i can't believe so many people want to watch UFO,Doro,Saxon,Hammerfall,Heaven & Hell and Subway to Sally etc plus booking the same bands on such a regular basis is dangerous too....

This years line-up WILL damage your event!!! It will lose it's reputation worldwide,lose its overseas credibility and eventually revert to an old school heavy rock event for the locals if you continue this approach.

I love Wacken but it will not be the first festival i will consider next year for sure!!!!

Man, I cannot agree with you more. It's like they refuse the accept the fact that metal evolved for the last 15-20 years. There are other styles beside heavy metal and usually Wacken has this variety.
Fuck, out of the group of 20 there are only 4 left (including me and my gf since we couldn't exchange our plane tickets) and the rest already sold their tickets.

Ok, I'll make it simple:
1)There are other metal genres beside heavy metal.
2)Wacken orga is obsessed with heavy metal, but usually they do bill bands from other genres.
3)But not this year.
4)This is very disappointing.
5)Most of my friends canceled their trip to Wacken because of shitty line-up.
6)I couldn't because of not refundable plane ticket.
