Actually, a bit confused with this stuff- as far as I understood there will be a camping zone, and you'll have to set up a tent there to store beer and stuff. But what about the security there? Or will there be any major Camps/Parties around you could hang out with?

In general things won't get stolen or anything if that is what you're wondering about.
There are lockers that you can rent if you want to keep your valuables in a save space.
In the 12 times that I've been to wacken I think I never had a "security incident" or anything.

Well, probably without the fires, as any (open) fire is prohibited! BBQ is allowed however.
But those parties are mostly spontanious ones. And you never know where they are! You could look for them though.

But those parties are mostly spontanious ones. And you never know where they are! You could look for them though.

And you'll find them all over the place. mostly closer to the festival area.
Specially near the main entrace, there's always a group with a blue trailer/car that attracts crowds.

Well, it is summer time here, but that's about it. One can never tell what it will be like, but it won't freeze.

Dresden is 6, 7 hrs by train. (www.bahn.com) From Itzehoe (nearest railway station from Wacken to Dresden via Hamburg and Berlin.
