is it OK to store Whiskey for such a long time?
I remember that my father kept a bottle of wine from my birthday year 1973, and when I got 18 he wanted to open it and of course it was not tasty anymore :D :D

hm... i'd say stuff like whiskey doesn't really get bad because its been distilled... the high alkohol content should kill off any bacteria and there isn't any "hefe" that can go bad...

i think i'll open either for my first child or when i finish university...

As long as it has a strong level of alcohol and you don't open the bottle it should be ok.

The only sad thing about it is that the whisky doesn't age when lying on a bottle.
I'd like to buy a keg of whisky, storing it at home, and then opening it after several years. But it cost an insane amount of money...
