I'm in my 30s so I love 80s metal \m/ woo hoo
2 weeks! I wish. Unforuntately only 5 days
2 in Stockholm, 2 it Piteå and 1 in Luleå before we get back on the train with Copenhagen as our final destination...Thanks for the offer, we've read about all these great places to visit Valhalla, Skansen...I live by the Lonely Planet guides hahahahah

Our stops are shorter than we originally wanted because we've decided to get to Wacken earlier.

We arrive Wed 24th. I tried to copy the Piteå festival link, by sometimes the page crashes my computer. I found it through the Sonata Arctica tour page. There are only 3 metal bands SA, Edguy & Morifade, but it's the only chance I'll get to see SA while I'm in Europe.

Sweden is a loooong country

but in Gothenburg 9-16 of august the Göteborgs-kalaset (Gothenburg Fest) is held...

there are some metal groups... Dream Evil, Stefan Elmgren's Full Strike, Dark Tranquility, Witchery....and something more..

Yes, the Pitea site is completely in Swedish, but I managed to work out enough info to get my way around to the information I needed and the people at the tourist office in Pitea were really great too, but they help me with thing non-festival related and accommodation....you Swedes are funny people (good sense of humour!)

I think we Swedes are always a bit amazed when we discover that someone actually wants to go TO Sweden

I just remebered listening to an Australian exchange student when I was in high school, she said that the two things she new about Sweden before going there was that there were polar bears in the streets and that we manufacture Absolut Vodka...

Well, she was right about one of the two things she "knew"

Anyways, I hope that you'll have a great time in our small country, if you do decide to go to Kelly's maybe I'll see you there?

Being of Russian background (please don't hold it against me), I guess I know a little more about Sweden than the average Australia, plus the wife of a member of one of our BEST metal bands, Dungeon is Swedish.
