Well, I need some advice. I've been a nerd, a keyboard jockey, and a momma's boy for about 19 years. I took care of the third part, though she calls  , but the first two need fixing. The drinking age here is 21, I'm on probation as part of a plea for hacking so I can't get any through 'other means', and my friends who would normally buy me beer are out-of-state at various universities. I couldn't get to university myself due to a nervous breakdown on account of stress, so it's difficult getting connections, so the question becomes:

how do I get to be a metal-head who can get along with other metal-heads without either A: getting nervous or B: getting my skull detached (that's why I asked about n00bs in the '5 things' thread  )

Move to a decent country where there is no drinking limit. Where beer is not expensive (like in Scandinavia), and where there is beer almost everywhere. (eg. Belgium or Germany)

I'm moving to Norway in November or some time  if I save up enough, I may get to have beer. But for now, I'll only have enough for food :(

It's just as well, I can't really afford it even if it was cheap, that and it may interfere with the medicine. Barring that, I've drunken before, I usually only get tipsy after one bottle, any further isn't wise in my case anyway.

If that's OK with you!

I prefer beer for $1.50 or $1.75 per bottle or glass. But I'm lucky to live in Belgium so.... :D

Buy a Motorhead T-shirt (preferably a black "England" one). Everybody likes Motorhead. Those who don't, you don't want to socialise with anyway.

Norway is HORRIBLY expensive, even more than Sweden.
Don't know the legal age for drinking there, but in Sweden it's 18 in bars (though many deamnd 20, 23 or 25 to let you in) and 20 to buy alcohol and take home.

One 6-pack of beer in Norway, regular lager, cost about 170 Swedish crowns, which would be about 20 €...

In Sweden buying a bottle at "Systembolaget" to take home with you, a beer at 33 cl ranges from 1€ to 3€ depending on wich quality you want.
