C'est vrai?

Somehow I'm not surprised. The more regulations, the more difficult to sell your (crappy) things to someone.
We like QUALITY, and even that's not what it used to be anymore. Nonetheless we still do prefer GOOD stuff. And if you won't make it yourself, well, someone is going to say you have to.

But on that point? No. Didn't know.

Bon appetit!

Can I have some?

I don't know this for 100% sure but I have seen articles and other things to lead me to believe that it happens that way. Obviously they aren't going to come out and say "Yeah, we ship all our shit to America" but I'm sure they do.

*hands Q a big plate of homemade Cannelloni and fresh tomato sauce* Enjoy :D

Maybe they don't like Amerkcans!

But seriously. Naïk works with Acer for quite some time, and she's completely satisfied, and never had a problem whatsoever!

Maybe it's just a "Monday morning" laptop.

Just because one computer (or two, or three) turned out fine doesn't disprove my point. I'm referring to a study where they compared the failure rates of different laptop manufacturers. Acer came in second to worst. Do some of their computers turn out just fine? Of course. But that doesn't mean they're a reliable brand. At least compared to all the others. Personally, I'll stay away.

In other news, found a better laptop - and bonus, it's at Walmart, meaning I get a discount. :D And actually, I've heard that I get a double discount for a single item for working either Black Friday or Thanksgiving (I'm working both). So a $700 laptop will be $550. Can't go wrong with that. :D

Also, getting a laptop now means I get Windows 8 for $15. Not that I particularly want it now, but I might as well get it and burn it to a disk to have for if/when I do want it.

I had one of those grocery shopping days :uff:

You know the one: walk in with a list with about 6 things written on it, then as you pass the isles you think to yourself "oh fuck I need some of that", followed by "I can't remember if I need that but look it's on special" and let's not forget "woops I forgot to check if I need some of that and I'm so screwed if I get home and there's none". $90-something later...

Then I got home and realised there was more stuff we needed that I didn't buy.
