I know the feeling. Every Monday and Friday I have to put up with the radio and there are songs that are played up to 3 times within the 8 hours that I'm there. Best mix my fucking arse

Yeah true. That's why I've got mixed feelings. I'm happy to be able to work and pay my bills with my own money instead of that of the goverment but I just really really dislike it here...

Yeah I have my Wacken ticket so far.
I'll pull that one on them if I have to, but for now I'll just wait and see. It's not like I'm wanting to head OS next month or anything, so they've got plenty of time to find someone to cover me. I had a quick look at the Christmas leave and there are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more people having that time off then so we'll see how I go without the sob story to go with it.

Can you maybe skip taking leave at Christmas and go to WOA instead (if that's even possible)?

that's what I'm doing now aswell... just the last hour, hour and half of the day I'm just job hunting or writing letters.

Except nursing/on call/etc. staff, everyone gets the public holidays off. As long as I have that I don't give a rat's about having "summer" holidays. I'm happy to leave it to the staff with school-aged children (same goes for all the school holiday breaks).

Oh there you go, I do the same. I actually normally will work as many holidays as I can because we get paid quite well to do it and it's hard to pass up that extra cash on your pay.
