Looks like I could be in a cover band some time soon

ooo hehe cool. I was in a band in my younger days - nothing as cool as heavy metal though - it was a 60's rock cover band LOL

So, if you were to move to (let's say) Belgium, you would easilly change your citizenship to Belgian? (after the legal terms of course)

I would. For the main reason that if I moved to a new country it will have been for a very good reason and I would want to show that by being officially a citizen. Not to mention that it is easier to be integrated into society there if you are 'legal'.

yeah... I don't feel Dutch. I don't really know what I feel like to be honest. So unless it's got financial or legal benefits I really don't care what my citizenship is

If it's anything like here you would have to give up one to have the other unless you have one parent born in each country then you may get dual.

I do remember something about dual citizenship here in Holland. That they want to end that aswell but not sure what actually came from that idea.

Before 28 April 2008, I had to give up my Dutch citizenship due to a treaty both Belgium and the Netherlands had signed once upon a long time ago. (to prevent dual citizenship)

Belgium left that treaty at 28/04/2008, so, since I'm married to a Belgian, I can obtain Belgian citizenship (as before) but I do no longer have to give up my Dutch one.

And as a concequence of this, all my kids have dual citizenship, as we both give ours to them. (my wife BE, me NL) Like you wrote.

That's fantastic for your kids, so you are worried if you give yours up they won't have dual anymore? Can they really take it away after the fact like that, or am I not understanding?
