Why don't you just take the S-Bahn to Altona Station and take a train there?

Regarding the buses from HH airport, it will probably be mentioned at the bus ticket you buy.
But I really don't know.

well if there is a shuttlebus going straight from the airport to wacken, than why the hell would you do the whole annoying train thing where you're packed with hundreds of others in small trains?

Well, this site says it's at Hamburg Airport, but it doesn't say exactly where it is. Never been to the airport there, but I assume it's big. Hoping I won't have a hard time finding the buses.

I just see now that the train going back home from Wacken leaves Sunday morning at 6 am.. holy fucking early! This is going to suck!

because some people might have to take flights in the morning and they might want to arrive at the airport well in advance! also because there is a huge traffic jam on the departure day from Wacken!

Plus, around 8 the normal trains start running from Itzeioe and they need space as well.

It's a train though.. there's no traffic on the track hehe. Either way. We have no choice so there will be no drinking on Saturday night and we will either have to nap in the day or stay up and sleep on the way to Cologne.
