I just can't listen to a band if I can't understand the lyrics - even if they are in another language like Rammstein - they still have to be clearly understandable. Death Metal generally isn't. Some bands like Tsurias I like the music but as soon as they start singing they lose me (though Battle Metal I can almost listen to on some days!)

Well in that case you can be happy to speak english.
In dutch you would only find one band that you could listen to :')

Pretty sure English/lack-thereof wasn't the issue, rather how clearly the words are pronounced.
e.g. Rammstein = good, Finntroll = bad, Iron Maiden = good, Cannibal Corpse = bad.

Exactly... I listen to all languages. My favorite band sings in Swedish half the time.

I just find it distracting if I can't make it out. For some reason my brain just can't ignore it and I just end up fixated and not able to listen to the music.
