I prefer taking trains to festivals either way. But true, there is an advantage in being able to stop by the supermarket, load up with cheap food, and drive it all right to your camp.

Trains are easier, you can relax, drink etc. and don't have to do nothing but to pay attention on where/when to get off.
But you're limited on luggage, I admit.
