I did my military service in the air force, had to, either that or go to jail...

11.5 months, almost a whole year of that crap.

Got paid about 4 Euro per day...

they didn't have to do military service, the sarg. looked in my face in the interview and saw at my report that I worked since I was 16 year old, then he told me that I'm not the kind of person they want to "re-educate"...
they catch mostly buns...
it's for free, and if you disobey, you'll go to jail

well they did give us housing, 4 meals a day, clothing and stuff.

We even got to ride the public transportating and transport to/from our regular homes for free.

Still, that kind of "pay" isnt a whole lot...

You save for a whole week, drink 5 beers on Friday and then you're broke again...

True. But the same goes for festivals outside our continent. It'll take me ages to go there.

What do I say?

Even Metalcamp is impossible without a car. I looked for a trainstation, but it takes me 2 days to get there! And I think flying is polluting. If nothing else is possible, I'll fly. (US, Australia etc.)
