I did my military service in the air force, had to, either that or go to jail...

11.5 months, almost a whole year of that crap.

Got paid about 4 Euro per day...

6 weeks of weapons training, exercise, sleeping in tents, bathing in colod ass lakes and such.

4 weeks of training withing the weather service.

9 months in the tower, we were there 24/7, at least one of us, all the time.
Utterly pointless from a military point of view, we did a lot of stuff for free for the civilian companies though...
