The quotes for airfares has me stopping over in LA this year. I guess I go up and then across to Germany where you would just need to go across. Does not seem like too much extra but it takes an extra 6-9 hours from memory

That is a bummer. My airfare was quite expensive. My total travel time will be 23 hours with two stops. 7 hours in Seattle and 1.5 hours in Amsterdam.

Yes that's the bad part. I had similar situations at WOA 2003. I really wanted to see Symphorce, however they played at the same time as Testament.

Yep airfares are a killer and 4 planes each way last year. But then we get bugger all bands coming to NZ so travel is the only way to see them.

I also missed Dew Scented in 2003. That was due to my friend and ride to the festival getting us there a little late. We did not camp and Dew Scented was one of the 1st bands that played that day.

Exactly. 4 planes for me in 2003. 3 planes this year. And Hawaii gets NO metal at all. That is unless you want to see Atreyu. We get maybe 1 good band here every year and a half.
