well on one hand, I think we might be at the beginning of a new wave of thrash [Warbringer, Bonded by Blood, Evil Army, etc] but yea, otherwise it sucks...
dunno either... just contact the organizer of some festival and see if they'll help :p otherwise I guess you'd just have to contact the bands and convince them to play, book the venue, and hope the money brought in by the fans is enough to pay the bands, venue, and other costs
no idea though :D

I'm really not even into that type of thrash. I've seen Warbringer a few times and I just can't get into them. I mean, yea they put on a good performance but I still really don't like them.

Yea, I'll see what I can do with that sort of thing. I'll probably ask the manager of the venue I go to. He seems to be a decent guy and might have ideas. He teases me about the idea I've lost two cameras there though.

well yea, it's not like they're Slayer or Kreator or anything... but still at least a positive thing as far as new metal from the US, imo.
sounds good... how'd you manage that? :p

It's not terrible, it's definitely better than the metalcore crap.

Well, I got pickpocketed once and the other I can't remember what happened to it. I ended up finding the one that got pickpocketed though.

Well, I don't know how it goes in the US (this just for info)
But first, the municipal has to approve, then you need a permit (and all cost €€/$$)
Then of course, the technical stuff like stage, electricity, SABAM (here, the organisation that collect fees for "intellectual possesions"), insurance, all kind of "fixed" costs.
Then the bands (which is to my opinion the most difficult part), and ticket printing. The beer stands (and all stuff) and the people who are working for you. (the most expensive part)
And of course once again taxes, VAT. (on almost everything)
And where do you get the cash? Banks, and they cost $$/€€ as well.

And now hope for enough revenues.... on tickets and beer etc.

Me Grimlock think two times before start.
So....
waarom bestaat het niet echt?

De thread als woord bestaat niet. Jouw topic wel! :)

That's a lot, but hey, I like challenges :). Though the venue would be able to work out the technical stuff I'd hope.
